What's this? I'm actually making a journal entry on here?

Oh say it isn't true. But it is! I have grown quite bored and am neglecting to write the four papers that are due in a week and not study for a test that is tomorrow...

I went searching through deviantART, while on a library computer, and decided to look at my old account. I saw on my comments that I was tagged by a friend back in high school. My old chum, .

The tag has me list 8 interesting things about me on this journal entry. Though it is belated, I will do it...

1. Here's a fun one to start out with. I can imitate laughs. It's not really a conscious thing but after I hang out with a friend for a while and I watch how they smile or laugh, I will begin to do the same. Regardless if I'm around them or not.

2. I am terrified of garbage disposals. This came from reading Stephen King's Firestarter when I was about 11. In a scene, which I will leave most of the details out for those who haven't read it, a man dies by basically sticking his hand down one. Since then when I see something fall down the sink I am on the brink of panicking. Not really panicking, but I begin to breathe faster and just look around to make sure no one is going to come in and flip on the switch. If it's a ring that falls down there, and not a glass or spoon, then forget it. I've seen the Final Destination 2, and let me tell you... I could not stop twitching in my seat during the movie and previews with that one scene.

3. I have two phones. It's not really an interesting thing, but something just odd. After I moved out I got one of my own just so that I could call whenever I want without running a risk of using up all of my family's minutes. I also got it so that my family wouldn't pry into what I was doing since, after all, I do make late night calls occasionally.

4. I have a prominent chin. Because of that I can't pull down my bottom lip all the way. When I try, I just look like I'm grimacing. This is why I smile most of the time with my mouth closed and have a lisp which, after years of therapy, we found out was a mechanical problem and not me just being lazy.

5. I put pink in my hair. At the moment my hair is just currently brown with blond highlights but about once I week I will touch it up to try and match what is in the pictures that are in my gallery. I like it so much I will keep my hairstyle this way until my new job. I am even thinking of trying other colors soon.

6. I'm very tentative when it comes to things. If I'm given a pen or small disposable object, I will sit there and take it apart. Just today, after I finished smoking, I crushed out the remaining tobacco in the cigarette and then slowly peeled apart the filter. I like to see how something works. I think this came from my grandfather, who was a mechanic the majority of his life.

7. I'm an active listener. I seem to have this natural talent when people come to me and want to talk. I don't really have to try - it kind of is the same with imitating laughter. I'm very empathic and most of the people I come to interact with for an extended period of time will end up telling me something very personal about themselves. I have, on occasions, at the Help Desk, before I quit, offered some personal advice to people seeking more than just technical help. I've had two girls cry on the phone with me and once I was caught in between a dispute with two friends. The other night I stayed up late talking to a friend of my roommate's, who just opened up to me and we had an extended discussion where I just sat and listened to the early hours of the morning. I don't mind it so much - I find it a gift most of the time, especially since my ideal job has me counseling victims on the side.

8. I'm a major Imogen Heap fan. As you can see in my gallery, I do graphics with her pictures. My LiveJournal's theme is Imogen Heap and I just about have every single song she's sung, including her days in the band Frou Frou.

Whew, that was harder than I expected. And now I have to go to a study session for the test.

Before I do so, however, I shall finish this game.
